I have been a registered Family Home Child Care Provider with the Department of Family and Protective Services since January 1999. ( I have never had a violation.)
I receive a minimum of 20 hours of training each year in various areas pertaining to child care. I must have training in the areas of business, child development, and safety practices. My favorite training is in the areas pertaining to the fun and educational things to do with your children.
I am a member of the Arlington Area Child Care Provider Support Group www.choosehomechildcare.com . We are a group of child care providers that get together once a month for training and talking shop.
I receive training in CPR and First Aid.
I am a member of a USDA Childcare Food Program. This means that I am accountable for serving nutritious meals to your child. By the way, I serve breakfast, lunch and at least one snack a day (usually more).
I have raised 4 wonderful children.
Before I started home child care, I worked as a teacher in a Mothers' Day Out Program and I have taught in Children's Sunday School classes.
I am an avid reader and I read many books pertaining to teaching and caring for children.
